Spring Break at the Library

Just because school is out for the week, the kids don't need to stop learning! The library is offering lots of fun and educational programs during the week of spring break, starting with Mike Offutt and his Ultimate Science Show arriving at the library on Monday the 23rd. On Wednesday the 25th, Earthkeepers will use Native American legends to teach the kids about the connection between people, animals and the planet. It all culminates on Friday the 27th when Mother Nature herself comes to visit! Plus, there will be a special storytime on Thursday the 26th that will be all about families. For more information see our children's calendar of events, or take a look at the most recent issue of Excerpts.

6th Grade Inquiry Projects on Display

We have a special treat for visitors to the Children's Department from now through the month of April. Central School students spend six weeks each spring working on an intensive multidisciplinary research project on a topic of their choosing. A select number of these Inquiry Projects will be on display through the month of April on the top floor of the library. Please support the kids by coming on up and checking the projects out. Also, while you're visiting please be sure to sign the comments sheet!

We Need Your Help!!!

As we get ready to celebrate our centennial year—the library was founded in 1910—we ask for your help. Do you have any old photographs or documents having to do with the library? Please let us take a look at your library memorabilia of any sort, especially from our earliest years. We are not asking that you donate your items; we’d just like to look at them and possibly copy or borrow them for an exhibit. Please call or This email address is being protected from spambots.
